Our story

How ZA Construction grew from weekend jobs in Howick

I grew up around the trades and knew early that I did not want to do the same thing every day. Building gave me variety, a new problem to solve on most jobs and the chance to make something different each time. I have never looked back.

While I was still doing my apprenticeship I took on small building jobs most weekends for friends and family. One job led to the next by word of mouth, and I was soon busier outside my full-time job than I had expected.

In 2023, in the middle of a recession, I backed myself and started ZA Construction. The work kept coming, mostly from people recommending us, and the business has grown ever since. I am proud of that, because it all started with weekend jobs and word of mouth.
